Perspective

In hindsight I should’ve got off the bus at Randwick and taken a picture of the Captain Cook statue that was defaced a few days ago. It was splattered with red paint and the nose and right hand broken off. Last year it was just the red paint and the mayor said the statue should be removed ‘as a symbol of colonial oppression’.

Today was a public holiday and the beach and pool were packed.
