This is the day

Colourful start

The colours of the sunrise caught my eye as I came downstairs this morning, so I opened the front door and grabbed this shot with my phone.

The rest of the day has gone by in a haze of tiredness. I did the Big Garden Birdwatch early this morning, and we’ve had family here for lunch, which was kindly prepared by Smithers who knew I needed a bit of a break. I had also prepared birdwatching sheets for my granddaughters, with photos to help them identify the birds. There was much excitement as they eagerly scanned the garden, pencils in hand!

I had also been asked to produce various photos and printed matter for our youngest granddaughter’s school project, which was to showcase her hopes and highlights for 2025. She will then have to spend some time at home writing out her hopes and highlights for 2025 on the items I've produced, which I am sure will take her quite a while.

I can’t understand why the school expect children as young as five to do so much extra work out of school hours, and I don’t know how those mothers cope who also have babies or toddlers at home.
