Serenading

Smithers and I set out for a walk this afternoon in the sunshine, but unfortunately Smithers had to turn back after about 100 yards because his neck and back were too painful for him to continue. He really struggles to walk uphill because he can’t lift his head enough to see properly where he’s going. Some days it’s worse than others, and today wasn’t a good day for him.

He was adamant that I should keep walking while he made his way home, and I did feel the need of the exercise, so I agreed. I had a lovely two-mile walk to the Winston Churchill statue and back, and this little fellow was serenading me on the return leg.

Our daughter-in-law drove up just as I arrived back at our house, and came in to have a cup of tea with us before going off to collect one of our granddaughters from a party.
