Recital
Today I met an old friend of my mum and dad's, and I suppose an old friend of mine.
He's somehow 72 now but still seems to be exactly as he was when I first met him when I was a teenager, 40 years ago.
Was great to catch up over lunch before he then gave today's Organ Recital at Rochdale Town Hall. This pic is of the quietly restrained stairs...
The Town Hall has recently been restored, and as other blippers say, is one of the best buildings in the UK. It's also got a wonderful Binns pipe organ, which is world renowned too.
Thankfully there are a series of recitals through the year so plenty of opportunity to hear the organ if you wish.
Today, was Gordon Stewart, and was as good as ever, playing to quite an audience. His playing and a few stories at lunch made a great day.
Thanks Gordon.
