Hamburg Photo Weekend - Day 2 - Speicherstadt

The Speicherstadt is the historic warehouse district of Hamburg. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and today it was our target for photography. However, this had to wait until the afternoon because in the morning there was still some rain. We tried to go underground in the Old Elbe tunnel (built in 1911), but this was closed for maintenance. We then went to the Hafencity Universität underground station, which has lights that change colours constantly.

After lunch it was time to find the right spots at Speicherstadt and once it started to get dark we made some nice photos. The photography ended at St. Catherine's Church and then it was time for dinner at a tapas restaurant.

I think we managed to squeeze every bit of photographic opportunity out of this day. We had a public transport day ticket but still ended up walking for over 13 kilometers as well.
