Hired help

During the summer I can finish work earlier on a Friday. It's a great start to the weekend so I try to do it as much as I can workload and travel permitted. And today I managed quite well. And not only that but it was unexpectedly sunny and my parents came round.

After a cuppa and a catch up, I put them to work! I've only recently had a garden and its surprised me how much I want to make it look good so I actually don't mind gardening. But I don't know much about it unlike mum and dad who know lots - and I'm more than happy for them to put their knowledge to good use and help sort out my plants. Their main task was tidying up my rose bush which seems to grow at an alarming speed (and annoyingly flowered whilst I was away). It's bloody prickly hence dad's lovely purple glove (from the amusingly named lady gardeners glove range). The fella even joined in whilst I stood back to supervise!

It's a shame there's only 3 Fridays left of summer hours. Must make the most of them.
