Emma in the USA. Suite!

So, after an early start leaving sunny England I began my journey to the USA where I'll be until the end of August. I can never afford to fly direct so the journey usually involves various plane changes and waiting around in airports. What made today's journey better than usual was that I could complete the whole entry to the USA interrogation/customs declaration/passport stamping shenanigans in Shannon before boarding the flight to New York, allowing a swift and serene landing in a domestic terminal and heading straight through to baggage reclaim. Unfortunately I still had an hours wait for Tom to come and pick me up so might as well have stood in the queue of despair.
When we got to our hotel I was very excited to discover that due to Tom's super deluxe platinum extra special membership of this particular chain that we got to stay in a suite (basically a little lounge in addition to the bedroom) and that we could avail ourselves of FREE breakfast and dinner. Managed to stay up until 10pm in Phase 1 of jetlag beating strategic plan. All good :)
