All calm at Esher Common
It was very windy and raining first thing this morning, but then the rain stopped, the sun came out and the wind calmed down. Storm Éowyn is mainly affecting northern Ireland and northern parts of Scotland so we are lucky down here in the south to miss the worst of it.
I decided to go grocery shopping and run errands first, and walk Xena later when the weather was better. A world class hunting dog who is so lazy she would happily sleep in her bed all day, so she did not mind going out later. Yet when we were thinking of getting a Hungarian Vizsla everyone said to us that we were crazy as they need so much exercise. Huh! This is a scene of the common from my walk.
Cewe did offer to replace my damaged photo book, without any quibbling, as I knew they would as their customer service is excellent. I also did get an appointment with the physio for my wrist - she is one that I have not used before but comes highly recommended, and the best part is that she works from home down the road from our house so I can walk to my appointment.
My car was serviced and had an MOT in November, and I was told I needed a new shock absorber strut of the rear axle and a new suspension strut in the front which cost a fortune. I only did 2000 miles in a year of pootling about locally, so it was surprising that I needed this work done. Now my car is making a dreadful knocking sound from the front suspension so I am wondering of maybe they never fitted it correctly? I phoned Mercedes and they said I must not drive it and they are sending a specialist mechanic to come out and check the car. The car is nearly 8 years old but is costing too much now so we had already made the decision to look at changing my car, and so tomorrow we are going to test drive some different cars.
