The colour purple!

This lovely clump of early crocus belies the dreadful weather the UK has experienced today. We are in an Amber weather warning area but elsewhere in Ireland and Scotland they have a very rare *Red weather warning. (*Danger to life)
Having said that it’s not a particularly cold wind and we have got some sun.

We have one or two snowdrops on the point of opening but today I wanted to showcase these. I say it every year, I don’t know where they came from. There may have been some in the middle border of the back garden but I don’t recall planting them and they have all migrated across to the bed under the magnolias. I love looking out for them every year as together with the snowdrops, hellebores and witch hazels, they are early portents  of Spring in the garden.

Weekend on it’s  way and hopefully better weather for everybody here. Stay safe.
