Storm Éowyn

We didn't hit the strong winds until the morning. If it's like this here, what must it be like in Scotland and Ireland?

I thought I'd try to capture motion in the trees but only the twigs at the ends of the branches begin to suggest that.

The object in the middle of the photo is a magpie nest. We have watched the birds building it through January. It must be substantial as it hasn't been lost in the storm.

I was mistaken last year when I described a similar structure in much the same place as a squirrel drey. That did collapse in strong winds. This has nothing to do with squirrels.

Needless to say, we are staying in all day.
