Nature Diary. 9.30 in the morning

It was a cold, damp morning with just a hint in the grey sky that the sun might break through later in the day. The warnings of threatened gales (strong enough to blow your roof off) were now being cancelled... I'm glad I didn't take any notice of them in the first place.
On checking the many large tubs of plants that we have it was lovely to see new growth bursting forth, dismissing various threats of bad weather and therefore doing their own thing....Something I often did and then sometimes regretted in my youthful enthusiasm of cycling the 4 miles to my Grammar School decades ago every weekday in school term time and would get soaked if it rained.  That was in the time when life in England was well run and sane.
Days from which England and Sanity are both now long gone.
I'm thinking I'd like to move to Australia as I have a large family there who all decided it was the sane thing to do. How right they were.
