Waiting
Is it the hard part?
Well, maybe but I try to just savour the happy anticipation patiently! At pottery this evening four of these are mine. Mine are dry and ready for firing but most of the others are far from dry and will take a while in the cold winter weather. While I wait, I keep making more. There are also a few glazed pieces of mine in the kiln which will be fired on Saturday ... so I can spend the next few days looking forward to seeing the end results. The kiln takes well over 24 hours to fire up and cool down.
Pottery came at the end of a very long day out. After an early start to get Jamie to the health centre - rainy so no fun to push there in his chair. After a short break at mine we set off for Llanfairfechan on the north coast where the wheelchair service have their clinics. Jamie's new NHS wheelchair was ready for collection. It's a two hour drive which started in a torrential downpour, sleety as we headed inland, fresh snow sprinkling the higher tops. Thankfully the weather improved a little thereafter. Fitting adjustments took three hours but the chair gets a very definite thumbs up. After a shopping stop at the supermarket in Porthmadog, I eventually got home at 7pm. I had leftover casserole to reheat for tea so was able to make a quick turnaround before my two hours at the community pottery session tonight. A good day ... am planning a quieter one tomorrow!
