A special cross
Dull again and increasingly wet. The beginning of what might prove to be a very wet fortnight - or longer. Our yellow weather warning has been upgraded to red, with gusts of up to 100mph forecast. All trains have been cancelled and the hospital has cancelled all appointments. Sounds really bad - Scotland will have the lowest pressure since 1982. Keep safe everyone - take no chances!
We've cancelled our proposed weekend in Glasgow - far too risky!
A morning inside today - most photographic stuff. After lunch I went up to Appin with MrsM - she was visiting a friend who had been unwell - and I thought I could spend some time in the old graveyard as this is the subject of our next competition. Grey skies and rain - not good photography weather. I did notice this rather strange cross - I must try to find out what it represents.
On the way back we suddenly got a glimpse of a beautiful patch of sunshine over the dark sea. This persisted as we drove down into Oban, lighting up the gaps between the houses.
Quotes about windy weather: 'The older you get the stronger the wind gets - and it's always in your face.' - Pablo Picasso.
