Peacock Butterfly

I'm loving this holiday malarkey. I had a quiet morning and then went out to lunch with Mother Flowerpower, followed by a stroll around town. This evening I'm off out to a friends for an evening of cards and merriment.

This afternoon I decided to try to get a picture of the beautiful butterflies that flap about a buddleia on a nearby business park. I spent a good half an hour chasing butterflies around the bush trying to get a shot of a butterfly in focus with it's wings open - two things that don't appear to happen that often at the same time. Thankfully one took pity on me and decided to show off it's vibrant wings to me.
