W-I-D-E on Wednesday: "Colourful and/or Striking"
Well this was a lucky find for today's challenge! We did some shopping in downtown Toronto today and our son & DiL had recommended popping into a camera shop, "Downtown Camera" as they thought I'd find it interesting. Well I certainly did - they have a whole wall covered in old cameras! What's more, it had a colourful emblem in the centre, so it was colourful and striking!
The extra was in the narrow entrance where it was tricky to get a good photo, but I thought it interesting enough to blip. I looked up Nathan Gilbert and found a bit of information on a site mainly about his son Al. It seems he emigrated from Kiev in 1921, having already been trained in photography in Europe, and set up a photography business in Toronto which his son continued. Details here.
Thanks again to Steveng for hosting Widwed this month.
