The ongoing saga

Today we have had EQC representatives, building contractors and an architect at our house. We have had gib board and cladding removed which exposed lots of moisture and mould. The photo shows one of the support beams after the cladding was removed. It is in a bad way. They are now suggesting that, if the repairs are estimated at more than 80% of the house's value, then they will demolish and  rebuild a complete new house. While,at first, this idea sounds terrible it actually would not be so bad. We just have to wait and see what transpires.
