The Stones of Livingston
A cloudy day. Off to see eldest son and his family at their new house. Partner and I did think about getting the bus there as it would be free. However, the bus would take over an hour to get there, and take another 25 minutes to walk to the house. So bus and train instead, would be quicker, followed by a 15 minute walk. We did get a wee bit lost getting to the house, but fortunately, we ended up near the house any way, and it only took a few minutes longer than expected. After a handover of housewarming gift, we head out to Livingston Village. On the way we pass this stone circle. While it looks impressive, it was placed here in the 1960s by the development corporation. Details about why it is here are sketchy, but you can read about the stones here. From here we head to Livingston Inn in the hope of getting some lunch. However we had brought the dog, and the public bar was packed. So eldest son headed home with the dog. The rest of us walked to the shopping centre down the road to an South African café. By the time we got there, eldest son had driven there, and we all had a lovely, if late lunch. Then we all went back to the house for a chat before partner and I head home. Hopefully next time we return, it will be a sunny day, and we can got to the reservoir to watch birds and get some lovely photos there.
