Doves round Daskalogiannis

Statue in Chania of resistance fighter against the Ottoman occupation of Crete (Wikipedia says:  "Daskalogiannis (Δασκαλογιάννης; 1722/30 – 17 June 1771), was a wealthy shipbuilder and shipowner who led a Cretan revolt against Ottoman rule (the Ottoman is what's now Turkye) in the 18th century. His real name was; Ioannis Vlachos (Greek: Ιωάννης Βλάχος), better known as Daskalogiannis)

Daskalogiannis name is well known by all Cretans; from history lessons in school, and also as Chania's airport is named after this freedom fighter ~ who is the man the airport is named after, is known by all Cretans!

Thank you for your visits and reactions! All welcomed lots!
