Folland Gnat

While Mrs madwill has been away I have been busy making up and painting this little model plane.

It is quite tiny (1/72 scale). The wingspan is just 9.4 cm..and it has presented a few challenges!

It is an Airfix kit and to be brutally honest it is a bit rubbish..cutting the pieces off the sprues was a joke and some bits ended up breaking! The two halves of the fuselage do not come together well…and the main wing (one piece) does not fit well in the space available.

I couldn’t get the undercarriage to fit properly, so I finished up making the kit ‘gear up’…so it is just laying on some blue styrofoam for the photo!! With a bit of imagination it could be blue sky :-)
