Rather a gruesome name that. Sorry!
Yet this cemetery chapel occupies a spectacular hilltop site on Knowle Hill overlooking Kimberley, Nottinghamshire, from which there are glorious panoramic views deep into the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District, weather always permitting.
The Chapel and surrounding graveyard date from 1883, and several notable Victorian citizens are buried here. Somewhat neglected in recent years there is now a community plan for refurbishment and rehabilitation ( of the chapel - not of the deceased!)
This hilltop provides an excellent and tranquil spot for contemplation and reflection.
