Playing Chicken

Emotions were running high today.

June passed away this morning and is now at peace.

She will be dearly missed, and it has been said many times today that for someone who believed she didn't have many friends, there will be a lot of tears shed over the next few weeks.

We're glad that we had the opportunity to say our goodbyes before she left.

Despite (or maybe because of?) today's sad news, the day was filled with fun and triviality. We made Evie happy by all (finally!) getting in the pool, Miles included, and Gina found some of her old dancing competition costumes from when she was little... within minutes, she was wearing one (how she fits into something that was made for her 15 years ago when she's only 6 months post-birth is anyone's guess...), Evie and Harriet were wearing another one each. Obviously it was photographed, but I'm sorry blipfriends, these are for family eyes only. :)

With everything going on, I decided that I would take a few minutes to myself and went for a wander up to the chicken coop. This is one of the resulting shots - my camera screen was playing up again (it's not happened for a few weeks... I think it must have been the heat!), so I couldn't check my shots, and this one isn't perfectly framed, but I quite liked it anyway.

I hope that it would have raised a smile in June.
