Really cold again today.

We took a notion to pop down to the Portrait Gallery - haven’t been for ages. I saw an ad for a photography exhibition, but actually, it was really just their own collection of assorted photos.

The gallery was really busy, which is great to see, despite the fact that their excellent cafe is being refurbished. But it’s always nice to see the marvellous central hall with the mural of famous Scots.

We were quite cold by the time we got home, so we didn’t stop for a coffee and cake anywhere. Instead, we rushed into the shop and got a basketful of goodies. Not healthy goodies either - chocolate based treats plus my favourite granola slices. Embarrassingly enough, as we were at the self checkout, David, the local fish ‘n’ chip shop owner, saw our pile of unhealthy options, and laughed. He said he knew what we were going to do - to hunker down on a cold afternoon to watch something on Netflix.

Exactly! We binged on several episodes of ‘The Diplomat’, and finished the second series. Loved it! And we were pleased to note that a third series is coming.
