Lovely Luís
Took our architect out on the same road we went on the other day, hoping to see the cranes - we saw hundreds, see extra of some on the horizon. And then to the same restaurant in Valencia de Mombuey in Spain. The food, again, was superb - here you see a mixed platter of croquetas, each one in its own pottery pig. Luís was as amazed as we were at such quality in a rinky dink rural village.
(He was born and bred in Mourão, but lives in Porto now, and as he said, his family doesn´t really explore the area much,)
We kept to Portuguese rules and talked of anything except the main reason for the meal, until the waiter brought out the (complimentary) herby digestif at the end, and told us to stay as long as we wanted, and there was someone in the kitchen if we needed anything.
Then we got out the documents, and together filled in as much as we could in a new set of papers, to request a small change in the floor area of the present building (we are not allowed to go larger) which is small, so their error of about 50cm matters. Luís will go with us to the finance office on Monday, to help with the ones even he couldn't figure out. He says there won't be a problem because the officer there is a relative of his, hope he's right.
Gratefuls:
- Luís getting to see the cranes
- time to get to know him better
- Mike and I having some good conversation this morning
