Heavenly scent

A murky grey day but no ice!

Currently when I enter our dining room there is a wonderful scent from this single blue hyacinth. When it became obvious I wasn’t being gifted any for Christmas I treat myself to this one from our nearby garden centre.   It was only £1.50 and as I didn’t really want or need a display I thought that was sufficient to be able to enjoy the scent. The flower is propped up with a stake, I don’t ever seem to grow them without that being required.
It’s been flowering now since the start of the new year. 

If that’s good value then the pot next to it, presuming that they will flower, is even better. Three pink hyacinth from Lidl for less than £2! They should extend the lovely scent for a few more winter weeks.

These are in the centre of my dining table, either side I have a pot of Amaryllis. One, a white one, I bought myself and has a good sized bud on it, the other was a Christmas gift and will be pink and white, it is just starting to grow. Future flower Friday blips I hope!

Out for dinner with the ladies later, a good start to the weekend,  glad the snow and ice is gone for now
