Full compliment
Having abandoned the early walk last week due to the conditions it was good to have everybody gathered today at 7.15am. Rather surprisingly there was a hard frost and we were back to icy paths and roads in the village but we all made it.
Though still dark there was an orange glow starting on the horizon seen through the trees and all the way up to the golf course. There was a bit of cloud inversion in the Aire valley below.
Quite light when we got to the pond but I liked the lines of cloud and the moon in the pink reflected sunrise that you can see in the blip over Coppice Pond even though it is more muted than the colour seen earlier.
After breakfast I headed over to Saltaire, the heritage village, to seek out some interesting greetings cards for the coming year. There were icy pavements here too but thankfully the steps down to Salts Mill had been gritted.
Found some nice cards and had a coffee in the diner before heading back up the steps and crossing the road into the sun to walk back to the car. Someone shouted out and I turned to see a fox running from the allotments and down the middle of the road. It then ran down the exact steps I’d just climbed up. I think I would have been a but shocked if not bowled over if I’d been met by a fox hurtling down towards me!
A lovely sunny day again. We’re lucky as apparently half the country is under fog. Might be our turn tomorrow!
