Dave at the bar

It being a Thursday some of the Beer On A Thursday crew headed into Bath to enjoy those pubs that still serve real beer. Once upon a time the BOAT Club was a must attend event, but we are all older now and it’s become more a once a month than once a week sort of thing. There were 5 of us though which made for an entertaining evening with plenty of good natured banter.

This shot was taken of Dave at the bar of The Star Inn, one of Bath’s remaining treasures. We’d ordered a 5 pint jug of Bass, but the barrel had gone. We waited for the fresh barrel but it was cloudy so we’d had to settle for an alternative beer. Dave was in the chair, but he was happy waiting as Thursday is the night that the pub offer free cheese and biscuits on the bar. They are largely all eaten now - they were to Dave’s right, (he was there for 10minutes), but normally a great incentive for the other waiting customers.
