Loch a' Choire

This is one of my favourite spots in Pitlochry (more so even than Loch Faskally). Loch a' Choire is the small lochan which nestles underneath the summit of Be y Vrackie and is 3 miles from my house. The walk takes you through a wood before bringing you out onto the moor which gives you lovely views back down to Pitlochry and the Tummel Valley.

One of my intentions for this year (which are still evolving) is to get out on the moors/hills more - it is one of the reasons we moved here and looking back on last year walks I realised I didn't do this as much as previous years - and in so doing I am planning on making this hike more often than the four times I did this year.

I found it harder going than I remembered but so was pleased to get back up and down in 2 hours 15 mins. It was really good being back on the moors again.

I then caught up with personal and volunteering admin. including booking bus tickets and exhibition tickets for forthcoming trips.  I continued with my Gaelic (I even understood virtually all of the next listening exercise on the first listen) and made a roasted vegetable, lentil and feta chees tray bake for tea (which was rather tasty even if I say so myself).
