Chiffchaff - mark II
No time again this morning for a reserve walk, so like two days ago I just had a wander along the Nuns' Stream. I actually went down there to see if the nuthatches might be around. I've seen them once or twice during the autumn and winter, but no such luck today. Instead I found this little chiffchaff and as nothing else was keen to be snapped it becomes my blip for the day.
Unexpectedly, by about 8.30 the clouds disappeared and we had clear blue skies. It felt warm and almost springlike, the birds were singing and several woodpeckers could be heard. The chiffchaff was in much the same area where I saw it a couple of days ago and very busy. I watched it for quite while weaving its way in and out of the brambles.
The rest of the day's been busy but pretty average so I won't bore you with details. However, I do thank you all for your very kind wishes to my sister. Her recovery seems very slow but is happening. I shall see her again tomorrow so will know more then, particularly if we can get to talk to a doctor.
Have a lovely evening xx
