Dolly's Day

OVERGROWN

I was up and about early this morning as I had an 8.40am appointment at the Health Centre.  I didn't make the appointment myself but was allocated it by the receptionist a few weeks ago and I assumed it was a phone appointment.  However I got a reminder text yesterday and then I realised it was a face to face appointment.  Im not used to getting out of the house so early but I made it in time.

Saw the GP who has been dealing with my " tummy troubles ".  Endoscopy showed up all the things I knew I had such as hiatus hernia, GERD, oesophagitis etc but nothing worse.  I also had scans of my right side where I was getting pain - and the scans came back clear.  The tablets the doctor prescribed a few months ago were making no difference (  Im still getting heartburn etc ) so I don't need to take them any more.  The doctor suggested - as a bit of a last resort - that I  try physio in case the pain in my side is muscular.  Physio will also help ( hopefully ) with the pain Im getting in my back, knees and hips,  So Ive got an appointment with the physio at the Health Centre  in a couple of weeks.  I will just see her as a one off until I get an appointment with the Musculoskeletal Team at the hospital..

After leaving the Health Centre I decided to go on a blip hunt.  The Wide Wednesday theme is " Nature".  I headed for the churchyard of St Marys Church.  My blip shot shows a very overgrown area. Thanks to steveng for hosting.

Ive added a wide extra.  Its a view across the river to Newcastle.... you can see St James Park - home of Newcastle United FC.  I took the shot from the path that runs behind the shops in the village.

Next I did some food shopping before walking home.  Did a few chores and caught up with some TV viewing.  Had a nap later on before cooking my evening meal.

Newcastle had a home game this evening against Wolves.  Kick off was 7.30pm.  A few days ago I decided not to go to the match and sold my ticket back to the club.  Its a good system and it means if I can't go - or don't want to go - my seat won't be empty.  And I get a refund of the ticket price.  I listened to the match on the radio.  Newcastle played well and won the game 3 - 0.  However Wolves played better than the scoreline suggests and had some good chances including a disallowed goal.

A couple of stats ..... 1) Newcastle have won 9 consecutive games equalising their club record.  2) Alexander Isak became the 4th player in Premier League history to score in 8 consecutive appearances. (  Isak is fast becoming one of Newcastle's best players.)
