Dolly's Day

CUP PATTERNS

The Abstract Thursday theme is 'patterns'   I decided to blip the patterns around the side of the cup I was drinking my coffee out of this afternoon.  Its a Portmeirion cup designed by Susan Williams - Ellis.  The design is called TOTEM. Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting.

Susan Williams-Ellis was one of Britain’s most celebrated designers of the second half of the twentieth century. Her designs were at the forefront of contemporary style and continue to inspire the ceramics industry today.  Possibly one of the most iconic designs by Susan Williams-Ellis, Totem was launched in 1963 and continued into the early 1970's. Totem is on display in museums in the UK and abroad and appears in publications as a design symbol of its day. .A must for any Portmeirion collector.   I wouldn't call myself a collector of Portmeiron but I do like their products and have a few items such as cups, mugs and plates which are in everyday use.

I had a quiet day at home today.  Sent a few e mails, made some appointments and did some admin. Made sure I fed the birds.  My neighbours cat Fluffy was at the back door waiting when I went out so I had to feed her too.
