MBE

Our journey yesterday went pretty well considering that five trains were involved. Stirling -Glasgow, Glasgow-Euston, Euston- Paddington, Paddington -Slough, Slough-Windsor.  We walked to the flat we've rented for a couple of nights and rendezvoused with my sister and BiL. 

Today we made the journey to Windsor Castle where my sister was receiving an MBE from the Princess Royal. My daughter and I were so pleased to have been invited as her guests and had a unique day being part of the ceremony.  It's a marvellous accolade for decades of work. 

My main shows my sister and BiL back at the flat after the investiture and the extra is my daughter and sister outside Windsor Castle. 

After the morning ceremony we came back to the flat for fizz and nibbles. My sister's former boss, who had nominated her, and her best friends joined us. We then went for a lovely meal at an Italian restaurant. We're now back at the flat in slightly more relaxed clothing enjoying a cup of tea. 

I'm sure that most if not all Blippers have views about the honours system but not today please.
