Grumpy Old Man

Sunny walk

A sunny day from start to finish - and fairly warm too! I was tied down with Photo Club stuff this morning, but after lunch I went out for a walk.

Down to Argyll Square, then along the beach - the tide was right out - to the North Pier where I had to climb back up, then back to the beach as far as the last ramp before the Corran Halls. On the first section I noticed this man wandering around looking for something on the beach - maybe looking for treasure! I casually passed by - he was a visitor from the Orient - and asked what he was hunting for. He didn't speak, but held out his hand which was full of shells, double ones. When I reached the ramp leading up to the street I noticed a pile of similar shells on the edge. I look up and noticed that he was watching me, worried that I'd nick his hoard, maybe!

Back up the hill and home. I was hoping to sit outside, but the sun drops low just a bit early at the moment - in a few weeks I might be able to sit out long enough to have a cuppa! With a jacket on!

Off to Photo Club tonight - members' pictures, so I've put a bunch together.

Quote of the Day: 'It is perhaps a more fortunate destiny to have a taste of collecting shells than to be born a millionaire.' - Robert Louis Stevenson.
