Twofer
A female green-veined white and a small heath enjoying the nectar on the prickly sowthistle...... a twofer!
Had a blisteringly hot dog walk up on Cleeve Hill this afternoon hoping to catch sight of some unusual specimen butterflies. The views from 330m all around were stunning in the sunshine. You can see for about 90 miles all around this limestone outcrop on the edge of the escarpment but it's photographically nondescript because the land is so very flat.
However this shot was taken behind the garden shed fairly early this morning before the heat got up! The butterflies on the common were just so flighty and I lost the will to live chasing a few of them...the dogs looked as though they were going to expire they were panting so hard poor things!!
About to start looking at making cherry jam which could be quite exciting.
