Enchanting views tour

After yesterday’s long travelling day we took it easy this morning and went to the welcome meeting at 10.30! We were given lots of information about the site and the on site shuttle bus. This site is at the top of a cliff and it has different options for guests to stay in either apartments or villas. I chose a three bedded villa which we rattle around as there are only two of us!

The management arrangement lots of events and today is the start of the wellness month which includes aquarobics and pickleball, tennis and yoga and many other sporty events! Excursions are also arranged one of which, titles enchanting views was this afternoon so we went as it was a tour which is arranged to places where other tourists do not go. The island is being flooded by tourists including cruise ships and life is becoming difficult for cars to get around and to park and there are new tunnels being built everywhere. As a consequence there is a new tourist tax of 2 euros a day for every visitor and other attractions which used to be free are now asking for money.

We went in a minibus driven by Paolo, initially through lots of tunnels then up into the interior along tiny windy twisty roads. The highlight of the trip came when we got to a place with a view point into the nuns valley and from where you cannot see the sea. We had driven through the cloud and were concerned that we might not see anything but we drove above the cloud and the sun shone though it was fresh up there! It was magical!
