Now and then!

I came across a photo taken around the 1980s showing the old garage in the village, it was a proper garage that did mechanical repairs.  I remember it well, a time warp to walk into.  It is long gone and replaced by a modern service garage that sells more food than petrol and of course there is no mechanic's workshop.

It is interesting to take a present day image from the same position to note the differences.  I was quite surprised to note that the old garage was Texaco, as indeed is the present day establishment.  You can also see the old railway good shed and the telephone exchange.  The building on the extreme right and left were not there in the 1980s image.  The old shot had character and I wish I had photographed the village more back then.
