A Quiet Day

The electric company decided that today was the day to implement a huge upgrade to the electrical lines in the town. Without apparently notifying the residents, or at least not in a way that was evident to my sister. So the power was turned off midday while Em and I were peacefully floating in the ocean. When we walked back to house, we found a very long set of electrical wires running, on the ground, down the street, across her driveway, from the pole on the corner of her property. And there was a large electrical company vehicle parked in front of the driveway.

So we decided to play Mexican Train for a while (I won!) and then did a 300 piece jigsaw puzzle of Frida Kahlo. The power came back on around 5:00 pm but then we (well not me) had to deal with priming the water pump and filling the cistern so that the water in the house would work! It’s amazing how I take such things for granted at home!

It’s a full moon tonight and the tide is very high. There are clouds moving in and the sky was quite beautiful over the gulf as the waves crashed into Emily’s sea wall.

Tomorrow we go exploring!
