Fish out of water
Laundry on the line, ironing pile dealt with, drove up to town dropped a quilted bedcover & duvet off at the launderette, posted a card to my cousin, bought a sympathy card to send to Marina, grabbed a few bits plus papers from the Coop, dropped a paper & milk back home then drove down to CK. Mum was sat colouring in, curtains closed, lights on the bungalow. A whizz around, then made breakfast. Once Indie has had a corner of Mum's marmalade topped buttered toast we can head off. We normally walk for an hour plus. Plenty of birdsong, green woodpecker, song thrush, Robin. It was bitterly cold in the wind, walking the perimeter gave me shelter from the woodland. Found this little fish beside the pond, think it might be a roach.
Rog, my brother, arrived at Mum's bearing a bag of Sainsbury's jam doughnuts. We had a lovely chat sat with Mum enjoying a coffee & jam doughnut. Rog has got himself a part time job as a kitchen porter in a retirement home, so he had a few tales to tell. Did my usual round of checking everything was in order, had to search for Mum's glasses,. I never know where I'm going to find them. She's a treasure. :-) Gave her a manicure.
Made her lunch then headed back to Chudleigh to make lunch for hubby & myself.
A bit of admin this afternoon.
Roast lamb tonight.
