Shrewsbury
It did indeed snow overnight, but not as much as forecast, and by the time we were ready to go out the main roads had all been cleared. So we decided on a trip to Shrewsbury, some 13 miles away. It was an easy drive, and no there was no snow, just persistent drizzle.
Shrewsbury is another very picturesque town, with almost 800 listed buildings (extra shows the Henry Tudor Inn). We spent most of the day looking around - would like to have visited the Museum and Art Gallery, but it's shut on Sundays - and near the town walls passed this violin shop. Unsurprisingly it was also closed; had it been open we would have certainly gone in. Bizarrely, there was no shop name or contact details on the shop, but there's some information online.
By mid-afternoon we were cold and decidedly damp, and decided to leave Shrewsbury to get warm in the van and have a short, exploratory drive around the nearby Welsh Borders before returning to Much Wenlock.
