Grenofen Bridge
I had a short walk (approx 5m) in West Devon this morning. The first part of the walk followed a short section of the Dartmoor Way between Horrabridge and Grenofen. The footpath and cycle way here is along the course of the disused Plymouth to Tavistock railway line and crosses the impressive Gem Bridge, The name of the bridge derives from the nearby Gem Mine (disused). My blip shows Grenofen Bridge. It is hard to believe now that there were once many tin and copper mines in this area. The return route on my circular walk was across the top of the common with its sweeping views of Dartmoor.
