Kind Neighbours

I was so late in opening my kitchen blind this morning that my lovely neighbour over the way wondered if she should make sure I was OK. In fact I was just loathe to leave the confines of my warm bed when it was so cold outside of it. Nevertheless, get up I did and was up and out for my coffee in town with the daughter before 9am and back home by 10:30 in time to get my Evri delivery. You daren’t  miss being around for that -you just don’t know where they will dump it if you are not at home.

I had a mission today to try and find some replacement halogen bulbs for those irritating little recessed ceiling lights I have throughout the house. The ones advertised on Amazon were so many and varied that I thought it best to go to the lighting shop at the other side of the Meadows with the empty packet of the last bulb used only to discover they were finding it difficult to source them and had none in stock. Most sensible people have LED bulbs  now but that involves a cost in changing over the circuitry and I have 21 of the little brutes in the house. However the shop assistant was very helpful in telling me what to look for in the pin dimensions.

I have not ventured past the door this afternoon. The sun which lit up the old Caley Hotel ( now the Waldorf Astoria)in my blip is no more and it looks cold and inhospitable outside
