Man at work…

… with a really long pole.

This morning I was in M&S at 9.30. The café and food shop on the ground floor open at 8.30 but the rest of the shop not until 9.00. I was surprised to see the door still closed at 9.30 so I asked a shop assistant stacking shelves right beside the door why they weren’t open when the upper floors had been open for half an hour to which she replied that they were fire doors and never kept open. (not true because they open them every day except Sunday when only the café opens). I find it quite awkward to open them especially with shopping to cope with I asked her if she would mind opening it for me. She very grudgingly did so then turned back to what she was doing so I asked her to open the door on the first landing and at the entrance to the ground floor. She very grudgingly opened the next door but I bet she was delighted that the top door was already open. I’m seriously wondering whether to contact Creaseys who own the franchise to tell them about her grudgingly opening the door. But I guess I don’t really want to get her into trouble so will just bite my tongue much as it may hurt to do so;-)) And there’s a pun in there somewhere…
