Betrayal on Egilsay

DDW's July Challenge - by Anniemay - "last"

I visited my favourite "old pile of stones" today - the St Magnus Kirk, on Egilsay, 10 minutes on the RIB from the pier near our house - where Earl Magnus drew his last breath, possibly in 1115, even though there's some confusion about the date. This tower is likely the last thing this important person of Orkney history saw before he left this world, I love the place, it carries the ghosts of its past like no other.
