Icicles and a nest. The little fountain had possibly been turned off and all the water in the pool below was thick ice.  When S was cutting up the Christmas tree he discovered a perfect little round nest hidden right beside the trunk. Unfortunately before I could take a photo it had been squashed by branches but we wonder if it belonged to a goldcrest.
