Pedro Rabbit
Set the timer for an hour's work (Mike on taxes; me on MC, mostly), then set off for a circular walk along the walled lanes that are a big reason for why we chose to live here. This rabbit bounded across the lane in front of us, then froze in this position until we passed, at which point it disappeared into a crack in the stone wall. Impressive how invisible it was against the stones. Rabbits are good news for the populations of Iberian lynx and other predators.
A stunningly beautiful day, cool, with warm sunshine burning off the morning mistiness.
Here a link to an article that I read aloud to Mike on the journey up from the Algarve, that moved us both. Worth reading if you have ever invested yourself in a home you have loved and lost, as we have and will probably have to again. Thinking as well of all those who have lost their homes in LA, but also in Palestine, Ukraine, and so many other places.
Gratefuls:
- Zion walking to school on his own for the first time
- Julia, Tom and Eden safely home after an icy trip to see Mike's brother and family
- reading Stanley Tucci's What I Ate in One Year, after seeing him in "Conclave", quite interesting, but wouldn't rave about it
