Fab Fursday :-)

With Fidra on ice awaiting a new part, bestie & I jumped in the Leaf and headed out to stretch our legs & soak up some winter vitamin D in the clear air up on Arthur's Seat.

Queens Drive was busy busy but a parking spot was eventually found further uphill and off we yomped towards the trig point. The Flums had kindly loaned me a pair of Yak-Trax that I was keen to try and they looked an amazing idea but there wasn't much snow to speak of on the paths that just weren't icy enough to warrant them.

We reached the summit of the volcano ...VOLCANO!!!... and removed our gloves to snap some pictures of all around, Gal pointing out the many landmarks around the city and in the distance before another lady offered to take our picture at the trig point (blip). I did the same for her & her partner in return before with by now icy fingers, we tentatively made our way back down off the rock to the grass and footpaths leading back to the car.

Needing refreshments (& the loo!) bestie navigated us through town to a fab little cafe - 'Kafe Kweer' - for a yummy wrap & hawt latte. After that she took me on a mini local history tour of the canal, where the canal once was, some beautiful old architectural features, and I even spotted a Kingfisher ( sorta ;-D )

After a hop back to Chez Arell we then revisited a nearby pool for a warm & much much needed swim & sauna session before collecting a very Nom Chinese Takeaway for supper before bed.

Loved it. Great day :-)
