Sewing and Sorting
Another frosty start and its remained cold all day at around 3 degrees.
I finally got my sewing machine working this afternoon. I found some useful videos on YouTube which explained how to get the thread onto the bobbin and how to thread the needle, and very quickly I had it operating. I’m now looking forward to creating something simple to get me started.
In my search for some suitable thread I had Mum’s sewing box out and had a good sort out. I found various items which I remember clearly from my childhood including plastic spools that typewriter tape came in - now used for storing pins, safety pins for nappies and a wooden bobbin with red thread used for my first sewing project at school. I’m a bit sad we threw away Mum’s collection of buttons as I could probably use many of them and I have such clear memories of the various buttons in all their different shapes and colours - they were fascinating to me as a child.
Hoping your day has been kind to you and wishing you all the best for an enjoyable weekend.
