Across the bay

John is in hospital now, after falling headlong in the garden while out feeding the birds. He was a bit muddy and bloody but I got him to the surgery to get his head wound dressed and by chance the doctor was able to see him. He was very cold, he didn't know how long he's been out there but it was almost dark and freezing.
She suggested that I took him to A&E as it would be quicker than the ambulance, coming down and going back again. It wasn't the easiest drive in the ice and dark but we managed.
J didn't know what was happening, where he was or what had happened, but the nurses were so gentle, kind and reassuring and carried on warming him up. 45 mins in the car with the heater at full blast must have helped!
The doctor was lovely with him too and suggested a CT scan and keeping him in to keep him safe and do more tests in the next few days.
So glad that he's being properly looked after, finally. I went him to see him today and he's looking much more relaxed and peaceful. And he recognised me!
