Hoy

A glacial speed thaw has started.  Across to the middle of the County to visit my Mum.  On the way home we were lucky to have a good view across to Hoy.  It even includes the bonus of a light in the Hoy High lighthouse - which isn't on Hoy,  Coincidentally we hear that the next phase of the Bolt Hole is yet to get under way.  We are invited out for a meal to Stromness tonight so my recipe book will be resting again.  I note that on March 8th the National Gallery in London is opening the long awaited exhibition of ‘Siena: Rise of Painting 1300 – 1350’.  We’ll have to cross the Firth first as they are running a special train from Thurso.
