Golden hour pigeons
These hopefuls were sitting on the branches of our ash tree during golden hour this morning.
Not far below them out of sight is the twisted hazel tree with its array of bird feeders hanging from the contorted branches. The pigeons are also hanging around – they are waiting for smaller birds to come and peck at the feeders, thereby dislodging peanuts or sunflower seeds on to the ground beneath, whereupon they will swoop down and hoover them up.
