Icicles

Bertie and I came across five red deer munching gorse bushes near the beginning of our morning walk. Shortly after this we came across a very still sheep. At first I thought that she had fallen over and just couldn’t get up because of the slope of the land but after tying up Bertie and checking her out, I found that she was well and truly dead so phoned the farmer’s wife to let her know. After this encounter, Bertie was very unsettled on our walk and insisted on turning for home earlier than we normally would do.
The afternoon walk was a much more relaxed time and I was delighted to come across quite a few icicles formed by water dripping from a bog and running down the crag below. The longer ones in my photo are over two feet (60cm) long.
